Her laughter is hollow; it is a reflection of our broken bodies as they stand on the shore of the lake:

“Ah, do not mourn, that we are tired. For others will be waiting for us in eternal silence.”

His face is pale as the world fades away. His arms rest on my shoulder, still holding mine. We sit there, listening to the soft rustle of leaves falling, and they whisper their thoughts to me:

“This shore stretches into infinity; our souls are ours in love, a constant farewell.”

But we never do farewell.

paged through forgotten leaves, she stirs her eyes, looking at them with a deep, unyielding heart. They are as old as the stars that fall silent when they fall into the darkness of their homes.

“Ah, do not mourn my love, for those who come still will be waiting beside me in eternal silence.”

Her voice is soft, but it carries the weight of all I have lost. The shore stretches to infinity, and we carry on our journey into the unknown, knowing that in the end, nothing remains behind.
